The Canon FD 135mm f/3.5 S.C. is a classic manual-focus telephoto prime lens that combines compact size, excellent optical performance and Canon's renowned FD-era craftsmanship. As part of the original breech-lock FD series, it reflects the solid metal construction and precision that made Canon lenses a favourite among film photographers.

Optically, the lens uses a simple yet effective 4-element, 4-group design that produces sharp, contrasty images with natural colour. The S.C. (Spectra Coating) helps reduce flare and improve contrast, giving the lens a clean and pleasing rendering for both film and digital photography.

The 135mm focal length is a classic choice for portraits, delivering flattering perspective and pleasant background compression. It is equally useful for candid street photography from a distance, travel details and outdoor events.

The lens is built with a sturdy metal barrel and features a convenient built-in retractable lens hood. The focusing ring is smooth and precise, making it a pleasure to use for deliberate, manual photography.

Beyond Canon FD film cameras such as the AE-1, AE-1 Program, A-1, F-1 and T70, this lens adapts easily to modern mirrorless cameras including Sony E, Fujifilm X, Canon RF, Nikon Z and Micro Four Thirds using a simple FD adapter. With focus peaking and magnification, manual focusing is precise and enjoyable, and the lens is equally useful for stills and video.

On APS-C mirrorless cameras, the field of view becomes approximately 200mm equivalent, making it an affordable and lightweight long telephoto for nature, wildlife and sports from the sidelines.

The FD 135mm f/3.5 S.C. remains popular for its reliable sharpness, compact size and classic Canon build. It is an easy way to add a quality telephoto lens to a film kit or adapted digital setup.

If you are looking for an affordable, well-made vintage telephoto lens with genuine Canon character, the FD 135mm f/3.5 S.C. is an excellent choice.
