The Canon FD 70-150mm f/4.5 is a compact, lightweight manual-focus telephoto zoom from Canon's New FD lens series. It offers a convenient short-to-medium telephoto range with a constant f/4.5 maximum aperture, making it an excellent companion lens for Canon FD film cameras.

Optically, it delivers sharp, contrasty images with pleasing color rendering thanks to Canon's multi-coating. The constant aperture means exposure stays the same as you zoom, which is especially useful with manual-exposure cameras and when using flash.

The lens is notably small for a telephoto zoom, so it fits easily into a camera bag and balances well on compact bodies such as the AE-1 Program, AV-1 and T-series. Its focusing and zooming actions are smooth and precise.

The "A" position on the aperture ring allows shutter-priority and program automatic exposure on cameras like the AE-1, AE-1 Program, A-1 and T70, while manual aperture control remains available on all FD bodies.

The 70-150mm range is ideal for portraits, candid street photography, travel details, theater, and sports from the sidelines. It lets you fill the frame with your subject from a comfortable distance.

Canon FD lenses adapt easily to Sony E, Fujifilm X, Canon RF, Nikon Z and Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras using an FD adapter. On APS-C bodies, the range becomes approximately 105-225mm equivalent, a handy telephoto range.

Today, compact FD zooms like this remain valued for their portability, smooth handling and authentic Canon optics at an affordable price.

We recommend this lens to Canon FD film shooters and mirrorless users seeking a light, versatile telephoto zoom with classic Canon character.
