The Nikon AF Zoom-NIKKOR 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5 is a compact autofocus standard zoom from Nikon's early AF Nikkor lineup. It covers the most frequently used focal lengths from moderate wide angle to short telephoto in a small, lightweight package, making it a popular everyday lens for Nikon film cameras.

Optically, it delivers good sharpness and contrast, particularly when stopped down slightly, with the natural, faithful color rendering associated with Nikkor glass. It is a dependable performer for general photography.

The lens is compact and light, which keeps a camera comfortable to carry for long periods. It retains a traditional aperture ring, allowing use with older Nikon bodies and direct aperture control when adapted to mirrorless cameras.

A macro setting expands its capability for close-up subjects, while the common 52mm filter thread makes it easy to fit standard filters and hoods.

This lens is ideal for street, travel, portraits, family events, and everyday film photography. Its range covers environmental shots at 35mm through flattering portraits at 70mm.

It autofocuses on Nikon film and digital SLRs with a built-in AF motor, such as the F-801, F90, F80, F100, D200, D300, D7000-series, D700, and D750, and can be used in manual focus on other bodies. With a Nikon F adapter, it also works well as a manual zoom on mirrorless cameras.

Photographers appreciate this lens for its compact size, solid Nikkor rendering, and excellent value. It is a convenient lens for building an affordable and versatile Nikon film kit.

If you are looking for a small, lightweight, and dependable standard zoom for your Nikon camera, the AF Nikkor 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5 is a practical and enjoyable choice.
