【Camera Specialist's Comment】

The Nikon NIKKOR-H Auto 28mm f/3.5 is a particularly interesting classic NIKKOR for photographers and collectors who appreciate the early history of the Nikon F system.

Introduced shortly after the Nikon F, this lens played an important role in establishing the SLR as a versatile photographic system. At the time of its introduction, producing a practical wide-angle lens for an SLR was a significant optical challenge, making this 28mm lens an important part of Nikon's lens-development history.

The optical design consists of only six elements in six groups. The "H" designation refers to the six-element optical construction, following Nikon's traditional naming convention of the period.

Its 28mm focal length remains highly practical today. On 35mm film and full-frame cameras, it provides a wide 74-degree angle of view that works especially well for landscapes, architecture, travel, street scenes, environmental portraits, and interior photography.

Another appealing characteristic is its traditional mechanical construction. The substantial metal barrel, large manual focusing ring, mechanical aperture control, and classic Nikon meter-coupling prong provide the tactile shooting experience associated with early professional Nikon equipment.

The lens also uses a convenient 52mm filter thread, a size shared by many classic NIKKOR lenses, making it easy to use common filters across a vintage Nikon lens collection.

For mirrorless-camera photographers, the NIKKOR-H Auto 28mm f/3.5 is also an interesting adaptable vintage lens. Modern focus magnification and focus-peaking functions can make precise manual focusing significantly easier while retaining the distinctive experience of using a classic mechanical NIKKOR.

This is a Non-Ai / Pre-Ai Nikon F-mount lens. Compatibility varies between Nikon camera bodies, and mounting an unmodified Non-Ai lens on an incompatible Nikon camera may cause damage. Please confirm compatibility with your camera before mounting.

For vintage Nikon collectors, film photographers, and photographers interested in classic manual-focus wide-angle lenses, the NIKKOR-H Auto 28mm f/3.5 offers an attractive combination of historical significance, compact dimensions, traditional Nikon construction, and a highly useful 28mm focal length.

Everything shown in the photos is included in the package.
