The Nikon FG-20 is a compact and lightweight 35mm SLR introduced by Nikon in 1984. Designed as an easy-to-use camera that still offers manual control, it combines aperture-priority automatic exposure with a full manual mode in a small, friendly body.

In aperture-priority mode, you set the aperture and the camera selects the correct shutter speed automatically, making it quick to shoot while still controlling depth of field. In manual mode, LEDs in the viewfinder guide you to the correct exposure, a great way to learn photography fundamentals.

The electronically controlled metal focal-plane shutter covers speeds from 1 sec to 1/1000 sec plus Bulb. If the battery runs out, the mechanical M90 setting still provides 1/90 sec, so you are never completely stuck.

Light and compact, the silver FG-20 is easy to carry on trips and everyday outings. Its clean, classic design and simple controls make it pleasant to use for photographers of all levels.

The FG-20 uses the Nikon F mount and works with Nikon Ai, Ai-s, and Series E lenses. This gives you access to an enormous range of high-quality NIKKOR optics, from compact wide-angles to fast portrait lenses and telephotos.

Paired with a small 50mm lens or a compact Series E zoom, the FG-20 creates a light and capable film kit that is ideal for street photography, travel, and everyday documentation.

Today, the FG-20 is valued as an affordable and approachable entry into Nikon film photography. It offers the reliability and lens compatibility of the Nikon system at a very accessible level.

If you are looking for a simple, lightweight Nikon SLR with automatic and manual exposure options, the Nikon FG-20 is an excellent choice for beginners and experienced film photographers alike.
