Professional Camera Store Comment

• The Minolta AF 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 II is a versatile telephoto zoom lens designed for Minolta A-mount and compatible Sony Alpha A-mount cameras. Its broad 75-300mm range makes it suitable for wildlife, sports, travel, portraits, outdoor events, and other subjects that require additional reach.
• On a full-frame camera, the lens covers the classic medium-to-long telephoto range from 75mm to 300mm. When used on an APS-C Sony Alpha body, it provides an equivalent field of view of approximately 112.5-450mm, giving photographers even greater reach for distant subjects.
• The optical construction consists of 13 elements in 10 groups, while the seven-blade diaphragm provides straightforward and reliable performance across the zoom range. The 1.5m minimum focusing distance and approximately 0.25x maximum magnification also make the lens useful for photographing flowers, details, and other smaller subjects from a comfortable working distance.
• Autofocus is driven by the camera body's built-in AF motor, which is characteristic of classic Minolta A-mount lenses. This makes the lens a particularly appealing choice for photographers who enjoy the traditional Minolta AF system and want an affordable long telephoto zoom.
• Despite reaching 300mm, the lens remains reasonably compact at approximately 122mm in length and 490g in weight. Its 55mm filter size also makes filters easy to find and relatively inexpensive.
• The silver finish is especially distinctive and gives this generation of Minolta lenses a classic appearance. Combined with the included-style bayonet hood design and practical zoom range, it works well as an everyday outdoor telephoto lens.
• Overall, the Minolta AF 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 II is highly recommended for Sony Alpha and Minolta A-mount users looking for a lightweight, affordable and versatile telephoto zoom. Its useful 75-300mm range, 0.25x close-focus capability and classic Minolta design make it a practical choice for wildlife, sports, portraits, travel and general telephoto photography.
