The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G is one of the most popular prime lenses ever made for Nikon DX-format DSLRs. On an APS-C sensor, it provides a natural field of view equivalent to about 52.5mm, the classic standard lens perspective.

Optically, it is known for impressive sharpness, good contrast and pleasing color, even at wide apertures. An aspherical element helps control aberrations, and the rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces smooth, attractive background blur.

The fast f/1.8 aperture gathers far more light than standard kit zooms, allowing handheld shooting indoors and at night with lower ISO settings, and making it easy to separate subjects from their backgrounds.

Nikon's Silent Wave Motor provides quick, quiet autofocus on all Nikon DX DSLRs, including entry-level models without an in-body focus motor such as the D3000 and D5000 series. Manual override is available simply by turning the focus ring.

At about 200g, the lens is compact and light, perfect for everyday carry. It is ideal for portraits, street photography, food, travel, family moments and indoor events.

The lens is designed for Nikon DX DSLRs and can be used on Nikon Z mirrorless cameras with the FTZ adapter, retaining autofocus. On FX bodies, it can be used in DX crop mode.

Today the 35mm f/1.8G remains valued as one of the best-value upgrades for any Nikon DX shooter, delivering a noticeable step up in image quality and low-light capability.

We highly recommend this lens to Nikon DX users who want a sharp, fast and lightweight everyday prime. It is a lens that can transform the way you shoot.
