Professional Camera Store's Recommendation

The Nikon D60, released in 2008, is a compact and lightweight digital SLR that pairs a 10.2-megapixel CCD sensor with Nikon's EXPEED image processing. It is easy to carry, simple to use and capable of excellent results, which has made it a long-standing favourite for everyday photography.

The 10.2-megapixel DX-format CCD sensor delivers sharp detail and rich, film-like colour that many photographers seek out today. Combined with EXPEED processing and Active D-Lighting, it produces pleasing images with natural tones straight from the camera.

The D60 adds Nikon's Active Dust Reduction System to keep the sensor clean, along with a large 2.5-inch LCD with a clear information display. Automatic and scene modes make it easy for beginners, while P, S, A and M modes give full creative control.

The camera autofocuses with AF-S and AF-I Nikkor lenses, including the wide range of affordable AF-S DX lenses, and other F-mount lenses can be used in manual focus. Its compact size and light weight make it ideal for travel, family photos and street photography.

If you are looking for a compact Nikon DSLR with distinctive CCD image quality and easy handling, the D60 is a dependable and enjoyable camera that is well worth considering.
