The Nikon AF Zoom-NIKKOR 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5D is a compact autofocus standard zoom that covers true wide angle to short telephoto. As a D-type lens, it provides distance information to compatible Nikon cameras, enabling advanced 3D Matrix metering and flash exposure control.

Optically, it delivers good sharpness and contrast with the natural color rendering expected from Nikkor lenses. Its 28mm wide end is a useful advantage over 35mm-based zooms, giving more room for landscapes, interiors, and group shots.

The lens is lightweight and compact, making it comfortable for travel and daily use. It retains a traditional aperture ring, so it can be used on older Nikon bodies and offers direct aperture control when adapted to mirrorless cameras.

A macro setting adds close-up capability for flowers, food, and small objects, and the 52mm filter thread is a common, affordable size.

This lens is ideal for travel, landscapes, street, events, and portraits. Its focal range covers most everyday situations, making it an excellent single-lens solution for a Nikon film camera.

It autofocuses on Nikon film and digital SLRs with a built-in AF motor, including the F-801, F90X, F80, F100, D200, D300, D7000-series, D700, and D750, and can be used in manual focus on other bodies. With a Nikon F adapter, it also works on mirrorless systems.

Photographers appreciate this lens for its practical focal range, light weight, and dependable Nikkor quality, all at an excellent value.

If you are looking for a versatile and compact standard zoom for your Nikon camera, the AF Nikkor 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5D is a reliable and well-rounded choice.
