The Konica HEXANON AR 50mm f/1.7 is a highly regarded standard lens from Konica, a manufacturer whose Hexanon optics have long been praised for their sharpness and beautiful rendering. It was the standard lens for many Konica AR-mount SLRs and remains a favourite among vintage-lens enthusiasts.

With its bright f/1.7 maximum aperture, the lens produces natural-looking images with smooth background blur and pleasing colour. Hexanon lenses are known for their crisp detail and rich contrast, and this 50mm delivers excellent sharpness once stopped down slightly.

Compact and light, it is an ideal everyday lens for portraits, street photography, travel and general shooting. The smooth manual-focus ring and solid construction give it the high-quality feel typical of 1970s-80s Japanese lenses.

On a Konica AR film camera it is the classic standard lens, and the short AR flange distance means it adapts easily to Sony E, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z, Canon RF and Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras with an inexpensive adapter.

As a specialist camera store in Japan, we recommend this Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.7 to anyone looking for a sharp, characterful vintage standard lens that offers outstanding value.
