Professional Camera Store Comment

The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR is one of Nikon's most versatile professional-grade standard zoom lenses, designed for photographers who want outstanding image quality together with exceptional flexibility. Covering a highly practical focal range from true wide-angle 24mm to medium telephoto 120mm, this single lens is capable of handling landscapes, travel, portraits, street photography, architecture, family events, and everyday photography without the need to change lenses.

Unlike variable-aperture zoom lenses, the constant f/4 maximum aperture remains available throughout the entire zoom range. This provides consistent exposure settings while zooming and delivers reliable performance for both still photography and video recording. It also offers pleasing background separation and attractive bokeh for portraits and close-up subjects.

Nikon's advanced optical design incorporates ED glass elements, precision aspherical elements, and the renowned Nano Crystal Coat. Together these technologies effectively minimize chromatic aberration, ghosting, flare, and distortion while maintaining excellent sharpness, rich contrast, and accurate color reproduction from the center to the edges of the frame.

The built-in Vibration Reduction (VR) system significantly reduces the effects of camera shake, allowing photographers to shoot handheld at slower shutter speeds with greater confidence. This makes the lens especially useful for indoor photography, low-light scenes, travel, museums, evening cityscapes, and handheld video recording.

Autofocus is powered by Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM), providing fast, smooth, and nearly silent focusing. The autofocus system performs exceptionally well for portraits, documentary work, weddings, events, and wildlife encountered during travel, while the convenient M/A mode allows instant manual focus adjustment without switching out of autofocus.

The 24-120mm focal range is widely considered one of the best "walk-around" zoom ranges Nikon has ever produced. At 24mm it captures expansive landscapes and architectural interiors, while the 120mm telephoto end allows flattering portraits, distant subjects, and compressed perspective—all within one compact lens. This versatility makes it an outstanding choice for photographers who prefer carrying one premium lens rather than multiple specialized lenses.

Whether paired with legendary Nikon full-frame DSLRs such as the D750, D780, D810, D850, D610, or professional cameras like the D5 and D6, this lens consistently delivers excellent optical performance. It also works beautifully on Nikon DX cameras, providing an equivalent field of view of approximately 36-180mm.

For photographers seeking one high-quality Nikon lens capable of handling nearly every shooting situation, the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR remains one of the finest all-purpose zoom lenses ever produced. Its outstanding optical quality, dependable autofocus, effective image stabilization, professional-grade construction, and exceptional versatility have made it a long-time favorite among travel photographers, wedding professionals, enthusiasts, and content creators around the world.

Everything shown in the photos is included in the package.
