The Nikon Zoom-NIKKOR 35-135mm f/3.5-4.5 Ai-s is a versatile manual-focus zoom lens that covers wide-angle to telephoto in a single, well-built package. It was designed to be an all-in-one lens for Nikon film photographers who wanted maximum flexibility.

The 35-135mm range includes classic focal lengths such as 35mm for street, 50mm for everyday shots, 85mm and 105mm for portraits, and 135mm for telephoto work. This makes it ideal for travel and events where changing lenses is inconvenient.

The one-touch push-pull design lets you zoom and focus with a single ring, allowing fast and intuitive handling. A close-focus macro setting adds extra versatility for details, flowers, and small objects.

Optically, the 15-element, 12-group design delivers good sharpness and contrast with Nikon's natural color rendering, particularly when stopped down slightly. The lens offers pleasing results on both film and digital cameras.

Build quality reflects the Ai-s era, with a durable metal barrel and smooth, well-damped controls. The 62 mm filter thread accepts commonly available filters.

As an Ai-s lens, it works with a wide range of Nikon film SLRs and many Nikon DSLRs, with metering support depending on the camera. With an inexpensive Nikon F adapter, it can be used on mirrorless cameras such as Sony E, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and Micro Four Thirds.

Vintage all-in-one zooms like this are valued for their convenience and solid construction, offering a single lens that can handle almost any subject.

If you want a versatile, well-built manual zoom for Nikon film cameras or a flexible vintage lens to adapt, the Zoom-NIKKOR 35-135mm f/3.5-4.5 Ai-s is an excellent choice.
