Professional Camera Store's Recommendation

The Mamiya-Sekor C 150mm f/3.5 is a short telephoto lens for the Mamiya 645 medium format system, widely regarded as an excellent and affordable portrait lens. It gives 645 shooters a classic portrait field of view with the depth and tonality that only medium format film can deliver.

On the 6×4.5 format, 150mm provides a field of view similar to approximately 93mm in 35mm terms. This is a classic portrait focal length, offering flattering perspective for head-and-shoulder shots while allowing comfortable working distance from your subject.

The multi-coated Sekor C optics produce sharp, contrasty images with good flare resistance. Combined with the large negative, the lens renders fine detail, smooth gradations, and pleasing out-of-focus areas.

The lens is compact and relatively light for a medium format telephoto, making it easy to carry with a standard 80mm lens. Its metal construction and smooth focusing reflect Mamiya's reputation for durable, professional-grade equipment.

It fits all manual-focus Mamiya 645 bodies, including the M645, M645 1000S, M645J, 645 Super, 645 Pro, and 645 Pro TL. For portrait, fashion, and landscape work, it is one of the most useful additions to a 645 kit.

Mamiya 645 lenses can also be adapted to digital cameras such as Sony E, Fujifilm GFX, Nikon Z, and Canon RF. Thanks to the large image circle, the lens delivers excellent edge-to-edge performance on smaller sensors and provides a distinctive look.

Medium format film remains highly popular, and the Mamiya 645 system offers one of the most accessible ways to enjoy it. The 150mm f/3.5 is a key lens for anyone interested in medium format portraiture.

For Mamiya 645 shooters seeking a dependable and affordable portrait lens, or for digital photographers interested in adapting medium format glass, the Mamiya-Sekor C 150mm f/3.5 is an excellent choice.
