The Minolta MC ROKKOR-PF 50mm f/1.7 is a classic standard lens from Minolta's golden era of manual-focus Rokkor optics. Compact, well built and optically excellent, it was the standard lens supplied with many Minolta SR-mount cameras and remains one of the most enjoyable vintage 50mm lenses available today.

Its bright f/1.7 maximum aperture makes it easy to shoot in low light and to separate your subject from the background. Rokkor lenses are known for their warm, natural colour rendering and gentle contrast, and this 50mm produces beautifully smooth out-of-focus areas with a pleasing vintage character.

Stopped down to f/4-f/8, the lens becomes impressively sharp across the frame, making it an excellent all-round choice for portraits, street photography, travel and everyday scenes. The all-metal focusing helicoid gives a smooth, precise manual-focus feel that modern lenses rarely match.

On a Minolta film SLR it is the natural standard lens, and with a simple MD/SR adapter it also works wonderfully on Sony E, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z, Canon RF and Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, where focus peaking makes manual focusing easy.

As a specialist camera store in Japan, we recommend this MC ROKKOR-PF 50mm f/1.7 to film shooters and to digital photographers who want classic Japanese glass with real character at an affordable price.
