Camera Specialty Store Comment

The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD A012 is a high-performance ultra-wide-angle zoom designed for full-frame Nikon F-mount cameras. Its combination of an exceptionally wide 15-30mm zoom range, constant f/2.8 aperture, and VC image stabilization makes it an especially attractive lens for landscape, architecture, interior, night, and astrophotography.

The 15mm wide end provides a dramatically expansive field of view, making it possible to capture large landscapes, buildings, and interiors even when shooting space is limited. At the same time, the 30mm end offers a more natural wide-angle perspective that works well for travel, street photography, and environmental portraits.

One of the strongest features of this lens is its constant f/2.8 maximum aperture. The bright aperture is maintained throughout the entire zoom range, making the lens particularly useful for night scenes and astrophotography while also providing greater creative control over depth of field.

Tamron's VC (Vibration Compensation) system further improves its versatility by helping reduce camera shake during handheld shooting at slower shutter speeds. Combined with the fast f/2.8 aperture, this makes the A012 a particularly capable choice for photographers working in low-light conditions without a tripod.

The optical design uses 18 elements in 13 groups, including specialized optical elements designed to control aberrations and maintain high resolution across the frame. Tamron's eBAND and BBAR coatings help suppress ghosting and flare, which is especially valuable when photographing landscapes, night scenes, and subjects with strong light sources within the frame.

The USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) autofocus motor provides fast and quiet focusing, while the 0.28m minimum focusing distance throughout the zoom range also allows dramatic close-up compositions with an exaggerated ultra-wide perspective.

For Nikon photographers looking for a professional-class ultra-wide zoom with 15mm coverage, constant f/2.8 brightness, VC stabilization, excellent optical performance, and solid SP-series construction, the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD A012 remains an excellent and highly versatile choice.

Everything shown in the photos is included in the package.
