Professional Camera Store's Recommendation

The SMC MACRO-TAKUMAR 6×7 135mm f/4 is a dedicated close-up lens for the Pentax 6×7 and 67 medium-format system. It combines macro capability with the extraordinary detail of the 6×7 negative.

Optically, it is designed for flat-field sharpness and accurate rendering, ideal for close-up subjects. At normal distances it also performs as an excellent short telephoto, with a field of view similar to a 65mm lens on 35mm.

Built with the solid metal construction typical of Takumar lenses, it features a smooth, long-throw focusing helicoid that enables precise focusing at close distances.

The SMC multi-coating provides strong contrast and rich color, while the large negative captures exceptional detail and smooth tonal transitions.

This lens is ideal for flowers, still life, product photography, and detailed nature studies, as well as for portraits and landscapes where a slightly longer-than-normal view is useful.

It fits the Pentax 6×7, 67 and 67II cameras, and can be adapted to mirrorless digital cameras, where it makes a capable close-up lens with medium-format coverage.

Today, the Macro-Takumar 6×7 135mm is valued as a versatile, high-quality lens that extends the Pentax 67 system into close-up photography.

We recommend this lens to Pentax 67 shooters who want both macro capability and a superb general-purpose short telephoto.
