Camera Specialty Store Comment

The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM is an excellent professional-grade standard zoom for photographers who want one high-quality lens to cover a wide variety of shooting situations.

Its versatile 24-105mm focal range covers everything from wide-angle landscapes, architecture and travel photography to portraits and short-telephoto shooting. Compared with a typical 24-70mm standard zoom, the additional reach to 105mm makes this lens particularly convenient for travel, events, family photography and everyday shooting when frequent lens changes are undesirable.

The constant f/4 maximum aperture remains unchanged throughout the entire zoom range, providing consistent exposure and predictable handling from 24mm to 105mm. Canon's 4-stop Image Stabilizer also makes handheld shooting considerably easier at slower shutter speeds, especially toward the telephoto end.

Optically, the second-generation model incorporates four aspherical elements and Canon's ASC (Air Sphere Coating). These technologies help improve image quality across the frame while reducing distortion, flare and ghosting compared with the original EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM.

The Ring-Type USM autofocus system provides fast and responsive focusing, while full-time manual focus allows photographers to make fine focus adjustments without leaving AF mode.

The 10-blade circular diaphragm also contributes to smooth, attractive background blur, while the 0.45m minimum focusing distance and 0.24x maximum magnification provide useful close-up capability at 105mm.

For Canon EF users looking for a dependable all-purpose L-series zoom with 24mm wide-angle coverage, useful 105mm telephoto reach, constant f/4 aperture, effective image stabilization and professional-grade optics, the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM is an outstanding choice for travel, landscapes, portraits, events and everyday photography.

Everything shown in the photos is included in the package.
