■ About This Item (Professional Shop Comment)

The SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 is a highly regarded fast standard lens that represents the perfect balance of compact design, optical performance, and classic rendering.

As part of the Pentax-M series, this lens was engineered to be smaller and lighter than earlier Takumar models, making it an excellent choice for photographers who value portability without sacrificing image quality. Its compact form pairs perfectly with both vintage Pentax film bodies and modern digital cameras via adapters.

The f/1.4 maximum aperture provides outstanding low-light performance and enables beautifully shallow depth of field. This allows for strong subject separation and smooth background blur, making it ideal for portraits, street photography, and everyday shooting.

Pentax’s renowned Super Multi Coating (SMC) enhances contrast and color accuracy while effectively reducing flare and ghosting. Images produced by this lens have a pleasing balance of sharpness and classic vintage character, with natural color tones and smooth tonal transitions.

Wide open, the lens delivers a soft, atmospheric rendering that is highly sought after for artistic photography. When stopped down, it becomes significantly sharper, offering versatility across different shooting styles—from expressive portraits to more detailed scenes.

The all-metal construction and precise manual focusing mechanism provide a premium tactile experience. The focusing ring is smooth and well-damped, allowing for accurate control, which is especially valuable for manual focus photography and video work.

With its reliable performance, beautiful rendering, and compact size, the SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 remains a favorite among vintage lens enthusiasts and professionals seeking a distinctive look that modern lenses often cannot replicate.

Everything shown in the photos is included in the package.
